InfeRed … HEAVY
InfeRed utilizes the Just Blaze produced track, Exhibit C by Jay Electronica to showcase how HEAVY he really gets. Indianapolis MC, InfeRed, has been likened to Lupe Fiasco, Elzhi, and Black Thought.
HEAVY is a sort of series of quick twitches of his lyrical muscles, flexing the kind brawn he shows on an average day.
InfeRed – HEAVY (Bandcamp listen/download)
InfeRed – HEAVY (Soundcloud listen/download)
HEAVY is the second song (previous: Dracula’s Reflection) from InfeRed’s song-a-week series until his forthcoming 2010 mixtape titled EARS OPEN is completely released. Each song features a unique piece of artwork inspired by the track.
The official HEAVY single artwork and 3 shots of InfeRed are attached.

fur in my cap…rob roy
just saw this at martian-blog. it is incredible.
it’s ironic, creative, original, current, old, fun, nerdy, cool, structured, hard, simple, complex.
i love it.
this dude‘s first album is called King Warrior Magician Lover.
plus, we share our second name.
peace, and roy love.
colin munroe…interview | performance | download
This is an interview touching on why he (as a white canadian dude) is embraced by the Hip Hop community, is a clear part of the new [urban folk™] (haha) movement (like KiD CuDi, Wale, Drake, Slaughterhouse…etc.), and has a successful alternative mixtape.
I just want to say it first here and now…in the next few years, you will see the mixtape (free ep, free album, samples/remixing other peoples songs projects) embraced by other musics not centralized to Hip Hop!! Watch.
If you don’t know about Colin Munroe you definitely need to download his mixtape…
Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero mixtape (2008)
It features Drake, Wale, Black Milk, Mickey Factz, even Bob Dylan (remix…it’s INCREDIBLE!!!)
He’s on my “what to look for” list.
Peace, and embrace new love.
j cole…rapping “on top of the world”
Based on the 2 or 3 tracks i’ve heard from this cat…he’s my new favorite (coming up) rapper…
Here’s a video from the interview with Angela Yee where he spits to “On Top Of The World”, which is the song he tried to get to Jay-Z for American Gangster. It’s worth a watch! Because too many people deny music based on the fact that most of it is terrible…this is bananas!!!!!
Here’s the vid from the same interview where he is denied by Jay and his entourage. Pretty inspiring actually imo.
if you haven’t heard any of his music…here’s the song “Lights Please” which I think is what eventually got him on with Jay-Z.
yea, i’ve got my eye on him…
Peace, and on top of the world love!
Jay Electronica…Exhibit C
this is definitely in my top 3 freshest hip hop songs of 09. a video of Jay performing it live with Mos Def and Diddy and the song on youtube if you haven’t heard it, after the jump.
jay electronica – exhibit c (iTunes)
tell me that cover isn’t fresh as a produce section!! actually do, because it is. this song goes so hard.
peace, and exhibit c, love.
strong arm steady…fresh cover
I just think this cover is incredibly fresh.
Yea, that’s it.
Peace, and much love.
Lupe Fiasco…Enemy of the State: A Love Story [Mixtape]
The new mixtape from Lupe Fiasco has arrived!
Download-HERE|HERE
Oh yea…and another one is coming…
peace! and remember to smile, love.
wale…kanye tracks that never tracked
Wale talks about 4 (potential bp3) tracks Kanye flew in to play for Jay-Z before a show. he wanted a couple of them, specifically “A Star Is Born” for the intro to Attention Defecit (in stores now!! it’s pretty ill!!!)…i would have liked it better with Wale, don’t really like the Jay version HONESTLY.
Kanye producing “Let The Money Fall” for Wale, KiD CuDi, Drake…dope. could still come into fruition??
peace, and remember to smile, love.
BET HHA cypher 3…Mos Def, Black Thought, Eminem
Wow…

props to nahright for the vid and mp3 link (featuring all 3 vids):
DJ Premier feat. Mos Def, Black Thought, Eminem, Nicki Minaj, Buckshot, Crown Royyal, Joe Budden, Wale, Nipsey Hussle, Gsan & KRS-One – 2009 BET Hip-Hop Awards Cyphers (10min megamix)
though, to me, the awards in general are an utter joke…this cypher feature they’ve got going is becoming legendary. ftr, these are possibly my 3 favorite rappers…mixed in with maybe 3 others. who’s in your top 3??
peace, and cypher love.
q-tip/norah jones…life is better vid
Here’s a reeaally good video for Q-Tip’s “Life Is Better” featuring Norah Jones.
I like Norah Jones…i think she’s very talented. Great, soulful but unprocessed voice. Plus she’s adorable and i have a big crush on her. The songs great but the video’s better.
I love the idea of taking an effect and being dedicated to it throughout a video. The problem is, my attention span is only so long so sometimes it gets old quickly. That’s the paradox and the risk one takes when taking this approach. This video does a good job with the quick cuts. Nothing seems to get stale ever.
Peace, and life IS better, love.
lupe…fire
i know how much we all support the fiasco ’round here so…
Lupe Fiasco – Fire
word is it’s a response to the “MTV Hottest MC Debacle.” (via: lupend…
Not a diss of the list…knew I wasn’t gonna make it ha!…but I’m using the fact that I wasn’t on it as an excuse to just start wrecking shit on a frequent basis so by the time the next one comes out I’ll be number 1,2,3,4 and 5…
he sampled jimi hendrix’s “fire” which is ironic because i’m taking history of jimi hendrix music class this semester. he pretty much just goes off…he’s a laser.
“my mind was a sponge, but now it’s shamwow”
peace, and fire love.
kweli, madlib, doom, ye…!
what!? check this tweet from kweli…
woorrrd?????

ooook…here we go then.
peace, and !, !, !, & ! love.

peace and flashing lights love.
drake ye wayne em…forever video
Drake feat. Eminem, Kanye West & Lil Wayne – Forever
Honestly…I think overall the vid is kind of boring. I dig certain parts but it moves a little slow for me.
I really don’t like Drake’s performance. Kanye’s is better, his pyro technics are pretty cool and I like how they die out toward the end. The LJ stuff thrown in is done pretty well in general (mainly just before wayne’s verse). I like Wayne’s performance enough. I like the red lighting, feels sort of drunk. Eminem’s performance is dope, even though not much happens…His verse is just way more interesting I guess. He just looks hungry when he spits…plus they feature Slaughterhouse (the crew…yes, including Royce!). Rumor has it the pieces are in place for a Slaughterhouse and Em track…I’d love to hear Royce and Em (bad meets evil) back together. I really like that last shot of Drake alot! It left a good taste in my eyesockets.

What ya’ll opinions??
Peace, and forever love!
Oh…and in case you missed the post…here’s InfeRed’s debut music video for The Higher…
InfeRed…The Higher video premiere
World premiere!! Haha!, yessirrr.
Here it is…after too much time; editing, watching, adding, taking away…and all that.
InfeRed’s The Higher off the 2009 to-be-released mixtape No Turn On Red.
Thanks to JT “Tha Brick” for all the time he helped put into it.
Be on the lookout for new music…
Here’s the mp3 download for ya’ll flybrary’s…

KiD CuDi…the man on the moon
KiD CuDi’s album dropped today (click above to buy it on amazon)…here’s some real good interviews, the trailer for the dvd deluxe edition (which, for the record, i watched today and it is terrible and not at all worth the extra 5 bucks), plus a dope performance on Letterman.

Jay-Z update…a few BP3 songs (and not)
Here’s a few new Jay-Z tracks from the Blueprint 3 coming September 11th, 2009.
Jay-Z feat. Kanye West – Haters (prod. by Kanye West)
This song is really dope. DOA though?? Ye’ def used some autotune on that sample (which sounds like he sampled himself). Hypocrite? Ok i’m sorry…cause the song is dope so i guess it doesn’t matter.
Jay-Z – Thank You (Prod. by Kanye West and No I.D.)
I like this beat aLOT (No I.D. is reeeaaalllyy doing work right now. See recent videos of him in the studio.) But the whole “Thank you thank you, far too kind” thing Jay does is super played to me. Whatever though. Decent song overall.
Jay-Z – Venus vs. Mars (prod. by Timbaland)
Eeek…actually the link died already. :-\ Sorry about that ya’ll. Here’s a youtube of the song. But honestly…I’m not even that big on it. Sounds like maybe Timbaland leaked this too…like…without permission. Disclaimer: It ain’t my fault!!!
Jay-Z – Ghetto Techno (not on BP3)
Not real big on this song. It’s just a little buzz song he released, but it has to compete with other (read better) buzz songs of his (see “Dear Summer”)
Also…here is the illest commercial i’ve seen in a while! If you know Jay-Z’s catalogue well, this is official…they (Rhapsody) reproduced all his album covers and made it (feel) seemless.
One more Jay update…he showed up at a Grizzly Bear show this weekend which is dope as eff! They are one my favorite new bands this year. If you haven’t heard GB yet, please google them. He mentioned it in an MTV interview saying
“When rock was the dominant force in music, rap came and said, ‘Y’all got to sit down for a second, this is our time.’ And we’ve had a stranglehold on music since then,” Jay said. “So I hope indie rock pushes rap back a bit, because it will force people to make great music for the sake of making great music.”
I like that…for the record. Here comes Indie rock!!
Peace, and hip hop art love!!!
Forever…Drake, Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West
I haven’t listened to this yet, but i LOVEd the orig. version off Drake’s So Far Gone mixtape.
The CDQ will be out Friday night (which I’m assuming is when you can buy it on iTunes). Yessir!
Drake – Forever feat. Eminem, Lil Wayne, Kanye West
Peace, and forever love.

M&M (eminem)…new old music
I picked up 4 never before heard (until today) unreleased exclusive raw ill…ok sorry…”M&M” tracks.
Here’s a couple of goofy pictures to kick this post off. Features Eminem with producer Manix and partner in rhyme Chaos Kid (making up the group Soul Intent).
Eminem & Proof – Hammer vs. Vanilla (Bassmint Suckerin Rhyme)
It just keeps goin, haha. Here’s an explanation as to what “Suckerin Rhyme” was…
Basically, the ‘Suckerin Rhyme’ was a way for us to have fun by freestylin. We would record the sessions to play back later and laugh at. They were never intended to be released to the public. They were purely for our own amusement. The term ‘Suckerin Rhyme(s)’ was derived from an old-school hip-hip slang term called ‘Sucker M.C.’ which was used by rappers to describe someone who sucked, hence the title ‘Suckerin Rhyme’. So the attempt was to, in a humorous way, represent a wack or ‘Sucker M.C.’. That was the only thing premeditated about this stuff! So much of hip-hop was so serious in its competitiveness and this was a way for us to unwind and warm-up to do some serious music we had written and intended to release to the public. In retrospect, I think some of these tracks are entertaining enough in their own sense to be released to the public finally. Anyone who enjoys the spirit of spontaneity in music and humor – impromptu, improvisation, or ad-lib, which came to be coined in hip-hop as the ‘freestyle’ should hopefully find some degree of merit and entertainment in these moments captured on tape.. Enjoy! -love, Snafu
Eminem & Chaos Kid – Unrealistically Graphic
Eminem & Chaos Kid – Poo Butt
Eminem & Chaos Kid – Artificial Flavor
Funny cause he totes started off just effin around (Poo Butt?). Jokin and freestyling…now he’s being put at the top of Greatest Emcee lists. Dude was still ill…i wonder if he ever paid Big Daddy Kane for this style (ha!).
Peace, and exclusive love.
KiD CuDi…Man On The Moon album art & scene list
It’s set up like a movie dream sequence. Should be interesting.
I LOOOOOOVE the artwork. Both of them.

Supposed to be set up and feel like a movie. Hopefully no skits.
I think it’s a fail to put “Make Her Say” and “Day N Night” (the single version) on the album. He should revamp “Day N Night” and maybe put a new verse on, but “Make Her Say” should NOT be on there. We’ve already paid for the single, seen the video, it’s a nice little buzz internet song. For the most part, the album is going straight into iTunes anyways, so why would we want to pay for the song again? I’d much rather pay for a comparable song (or another one that is BETTER). I hope he reads this and makes an executive decision (ha!).
Still pumped for this none the less…but i’m givin him my thoughts when i meet the dude.
Peace, and man in the moon love.
July/August beat tape…wSquared
Aiyo aiyo aiyo yo you!
I just got FL Studio back (after my approximately 8 month hiatus). I’ve been super inspired and made a bunch of music in the past few weeks. Here’s a beat tape of a selected 14 tracks for ya’lls.
Beat Tape July/August 2009
Features my segue into techno/dance music and my second edition of a remix of Jackz’ “Iller”. Pretty much all these are rough and only 16-24 bars at most but can dEfINITELY be expanded on.
Also…I went to Lollapalooza in Chi city this past Friday and will be posting a review-ish recap with some pictures soon.
Peace, and music love!
